During the events of Saints Row IV, the Playa becomes President of the United States. Throughout this journey, the Playa takes the 3rd Street Saints from a small-time gang from the Row to a 'household brand name' in Stilwater and then Steelport. The Saints Row series largely concerns Playa's adventures as a 3rd Street Saints gang member, starting as a nobody initiated into the gang, second-in-command, and finally leader. The Playa is the player character in Saints Row, Saints Row 2, Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV.
This wiki uses either masculine or gender-neutral pronouns unless specifically describing a female voice or character. Starting from SR2, the player's gender can be customized to be female. Although the character is unnamed, this wiki refers to them as the Playa, even though from Saints Row 2 onwards, the character is canonically referred to as the Boss. The Boss, originally known as the Playa, and later known as the President of the United States, is the player character of the Saints Row series.
